Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with DOD and SOUTHCOM strategy, policy and plans in future operations, to include CD/CNT/CTOC support, and Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) engagement; knowledge of CD program objectives, policies, operations and resource requirements to develop and evaluate operational plans. Experience in planning and development of exercise objectives and operations to ensure overall support of USSOUTHCOM missions with respect to crisis management preparedness, response, and recovery. High degree of skills and techniques required to identify, define, and perform detailed analysis on complex issues, situations and problems, and to develop practical plans, policies, tactics, techniques, and procedures. In-depth understanding of all issues and documents relating to Defense Support to Civil Authorities, and Joint Doctrine concerning future operations (to include CD/CNT support) AT/FP and combat support, Task Force operations as relating to terrorist incidents and natural disasters, DOD strategy and the process by which other primary agencies execute requests for assistance from DOD and the method by which that support is delivered. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. About the Position: Serves as subject matter expert for development and implementation of Counterdrug (CD), Counter Narco-Terrorism (CNT), and Countering Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC) plans in the USSOUTHCOM, Operations Directorate, Future Operations Division, located in Miami-Dade, Florida.
