Duties Cont. Responsible for the control of interviews of persons who visit the Hub, telephone the Hub, or e-mail the Hub to ensure everyone is provided appropriate information, the proper advice and assistance concerning matters within the scope of the Fiduciary Program. He/she is responsible for corresponding with persons who make general inquiries (written, by telephone, or in person) to the Hub concerning fiduciary issues and is responsible for establishing both short-term and long-range goals in an effort to make continuous improvements in the area of customer service. He/she must be thoroughly familiar with the station’s customer service policies with both telephone and personal interviews. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/21/2024. Specialized Experience for GS-14: To qualify for the Field Examiner, GS-1801-14 position, you must have at least one 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves: Experience that provided a comprehensive knowledge of the complex laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to veterans’ benefits entitlements and VA Fiduciary programs. In addition, applicants must demonstrate the ability to plan, assign, and review work, and supervise, coach, and mentor others. Time-in-grade for GS-14 Applicants who are/were federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13 level. To support your claim of time in grade, you must submit your most recent appointment, promotion, or within grade increase SF-50 (not an award or general adjustment SF-50). Some applicants may have to submit more than one SF-50 to demonstrate their eligibility. See the required documents section for more information. Note: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. As a Supervisory Field Examiner (Assistant Fiduciary Hub Manager) you will be under the administrative supervision of the Regional Office Director, the Assistant Fiduciary Hub Manager has full responsibility for the operation of the Fiduciary Hub in the states of jurisdiction. The Assistant Fiduciary Hub Manger directs the Fiduciary Program that performs technical, administrative, investigative, and professional work.
