To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Developing theoretical models to describe materials interaction, specifically composites and thermal protection materials, with their environments; Assessing requirements and applying computational materials science to inform on composite and thermal protection materials selection; Collaborating with engineers to understand thermal protection material performance and failure mode evolution in mission relevant environments. As an Aerospace Engineer with the Thermal Protection Materials Branch you will develop and apply computational material models to understand composite and thermal protection materials performance. You will support the planning, coordination, and investigation of atmospheric entry problems with respect to safety, reliability, and performance for NASA projects and programs. You will pursue opportunities for collaboration and funding.
