Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician without more than normal supervision.I have the ability to do the work of an Electrician without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform normal diagnostic inspections and can perform these duties on my own. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Use and Maintain Hand Tools (Electrical Work) Ability to Use Electrical Drawings Knowledge of Electrical Equipment Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Theory and Instruments (Electrical, Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade Practices Troubleshooting (Electrical) PHYSICAL EFFORT Work requires frequent standing, stooping, stretching, climbing, and crouching. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally lifts, and carries larger assemblies or complete units exceeding 50 pounds. Uses coordination of eyes, hands, legs, and body in installing, repairing, operating, or testing equipment in confined spaces such as manholes, machinery recesses, lock walls, or on overhead structures; climbs ladders, scaffolding, and works from suspended stages. WORKING CONDITIONS Works inside and outside during the day or night, subject to inclement weather, on high structures usually over water which is frequently turbulent, in the proximity of moving machinery and high places.
About the Position: You will work as a member of the Field Technical Support Section, a maintenance force on the Okeechobee Waterway and Central and South Florida Area of Operation incorporating 6 Locks and Dam facilities, 5 recreation facilities, floating plant, construction equipment, and numerous flood control structures.
