All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-11/22/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement. Internship Requirements: You MUST provide official documents from your school to verify you’re currently accepted for enrollment at an accredited educational institution or state approved home school for the purpose of obtaining a diploma, degree, or certificate. OR Currently enrolled at least half-time at an accredited educational institution or state approved home school, for the purpose of obtaining a diploma, degree, or certificate. OR Currently enrolled at an accredited educational institution or state approved home school but need to complete less than the equivalent of half an academic/vocational or technical course load immediately prior to graduating. (You MUST submit a copy of your enrollment verification as described above with your application package.) Applicants MUST provide copies of their transcripts OR other documents with their application for employment as proof that they are currently enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, at least half-time in an accredited educational institution as a degree or certificate seeking student. Failure to provide this documentation will result in disqualification. If the transcripts show past academic record as well as coursework that you are currently or will be enrolled in, then your transcripts are all that is needed. However, if your transcripts do not show this information, then you should also provide a copy of your receipt for enrollment, a class listing showing your current or future enrollment, clearinghouse enrollment verification, or other document which provides the number of semester/quarter hours in which you are currently enrolled. Transcripts do not need to be official at this point in time. If you are selected, we will request your official transcripts. EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include the clerical or administrative work performing data entry, preparing reports, reviewing work orders, and using automated software systems for a facility maintenance program. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. (hours worked as a volunteer must be included on resume to credit).
Internship Programs provides students who are enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in a wide variety of qualifying educational institutions with paid opportunities to work either part- or full-time in agencies and explore career paths related to their academic fields of study or career interests.
