Two years of specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Two years documented experience in a family and children’s services public agency or family and children’s services community organization, one year of which is in prevention, intervention, or treatment of child abuse and domestic abuse. Knowledge of the dynamics of problematic sexual behaviors in children and youth as well as domestic, interpersonal and family violence to include child abuse and neglect. Intensive practical knowledge of community resources and services, crisis intervention, and bow individuals in distress may quickly obtain the types of assistance they need. Knowledge of laws pertaining to family relationships and protection of children and adults. Not required to have formal training in aspects of law but must be knowledgeable of laws that pertain to domestic abuse and child abuse and neglect as well as non-normative sexual behaviors in children and youth. Knowledge of military organizations, missions, lifestyles, and situations which can contribute to family stress, problems and crisis situations. Ability to demonstrate skill to interact with diverse individuals during crisis situations, including persons in the medical, legal, and social service communities. Ability to express oneself orally and in writing in a professional manner, to deal with diversified groups, individuals and organizations, and to compose written reports and material clearly, concisely and effectively. Skill to develop, coordinate, recommend and review prevention and intervention plans, materials, and policies to enhance support and programming that strengthens individual and family functioning, community and command awareness of the importance of the CCR to child abuse, domestic abuse and, problematic sexual behaviors, and prepares and sustains capabilities of commanders, Active Duty service members, and military spouses for mission readiness. Experience delivering education and training using a variety of techniques and methods. Competent in developing specialized training materials with the ability to deliver effective interactive trainings and briefings. Skills in public speaking. Skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate effectively orally and in writing with service members, family members, command, military agencies, and civilian agencies. Knowledge of the military structure and environment preferred. Ability to identify trend, service gaps, and policy improvements and develop recommendations based on installation specific data, current research, and evaluation outcomes. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. This position is assigned to the Family Readiness Division; Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) on Naval Station Mayport, FL. The primary duties of this position support efforts to prevent child abuse and domestic abuse as well as problematic sexual behaviors in children and youth, including public awareness and information and education specifically directed toward potential victims, alleged abusers, nonoffending family members, impacted and exhibiting children.
