General Engineer

A qualified candidate’s online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band level or GS grade level in the Federal Service, i.e. NN-03. NQ-03 or GS-12/13. Specialized experience for this position is defined as providing the following functions: 1) Reviewing facility layouts for supply chain, business operations, or production environments 2) Evaluating operational activities such as equipment configuration, processes, manpower, costing, scheduling and implementation 3) Collecting historical and quantitative data on work volume and related work-hours 4) Utilizing processes like LEAN and Six Sigma to improve production processes 5) Improving transactional and manufacturing processes 6) Collaborating with other professionals to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement process improvements within a manufacturing environment. A successful candidate in this position will serve as the Kansas City Field Office, General Engineer (Program Manager) for various NNSA mission areas and operations at the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC).
