To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. GS-5: bachelor’s degree GS-7: 1 full year of graduate level education GS-9: master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level to a PH.D. Or equivalent doctoral degree Experience Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-09 is one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level. GS-11 is one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level. GS-09 Examples of specialized experience: The work of the position is work associated with network services which is to test, install, configure, and maintain networks including hardware (servers, hubs, bridges, switches, and routers) and software that permit the sharing and transmission of information. For the GS-09 grade level, examples of this level include work experience where knowledge of, and skill in applying network operations, management, and maintenance methods and concepts, network architecture principles and concepts; network optimization techniques; and analytical reasoning sufficient to serve as network administrator configuring hubs, switches, and routers; monitoring network performance; performing network diagnostics; analyzing network traffic patterns; and installing network software fixes and upgrade GS-11 Examples of specialized experience: The work of the position is work associated with network services which is to test, install, configure, and maintain networks including hardware (servers, hubs, bridges, switches, and routers) and software that permit the sharing and transmission of information. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position serves as an IT Specialist (Network) located at the Wellpinit Service Unit, Wellpinit, Washington. Duties include organizing, installing, and supporting the organizations computer systems. Primary responsibility is the local area networks (LANs) and other data communication systems (wireless and wired). This position reports to the CEO of the service unit.
