Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing structural areas of CVN, LHA, and LHD ships’ builders’ specifications. Experience using NAVSEA design data sheets and technical manuals. Experience applying skill in design aspects unique to nuclear powered aircraft carriers and interface control requirements associated with total ship/system engineering design work. Experience demonstrating nuclear propulsion plant (or Reactor Plant Planning Yard) cognizant compartments, systems, and secondary boundaries. Experience demonstrating the design of hull plating, bulkheads, longitudinal/transverse frames, non-destructive testing, ballistic/non-ballistic doors, nuclear air blast, and ship’s motion calculations. Experience applying engineering design in the modification, alteration, troubleshooting, requirement definition and testing. Experience performing custom installation requirements for multiple ships and applying new approaches or improved techniques to overcome difficult and unusual problems.
