Position may be filled as a term appointment Not-To-Exceed 13 Months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Developing strategies for internal and external integration of day-to-day and long-range projects and activities. 2. Providing administrative control over an array of protocol activities, to include dissemination of events and executive scheduling. AND 3. Evaluating administrative practices and procedures to determine operational effectiveness and efficiency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (NH-02).
About the Position: This is a TERM NTE 13 Months position. As Executive Staff Assistant to the Army Test and Evaluation Office (TEO), responsible for a wide range of sensitive, confidential and complex functions in the framework of established policy and regulatory guidance that directly affect the Secretary of the Army and the organization. Incumbent provides managerial continuity for TEO.
