Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: One year specialized experience which has provided knowledge of a standardized body of rules, procedures, and manages operations related to multiple fitness recreation facilities in order to perform the required activities. Experience must have demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Requires knowledge of preparing budgets. managing financial & physical resources of fitness & sports programs and organizing/utilizing available resources within the programs framework. Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching techniques of various sport. Must have ability to supervise, train, and schedule subordinates. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Be able to communicate both orally and writing. 2. Knowledgeable with facility and fitness safety and maintenance. 3. Ability to notice exterior / interior building deficiencies for replace or repair. 4. This position will be assigned to the JBSA Lackland Fitness Center. This is a Regular Full-Time category position with guaranteed 35 hours per week, may work up to 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a Regular category position are eligible for benefits.
