In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements within 15 calendar days of the closing date listed on the announcement: Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Develops policies, procedures, guidelines, and best practices; gathers and analyzes statistical data to improve systems and workflows; analyzes programs and makes recommendations for improvement; develops reports on program processes and workload utilization. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Supervision of Staff – Leading, managing, and supervising the Health Science and File Room Staff. Routinely resolves complaints while elevating the complex issues to immediate supervisor for resolution. Daily imaging operation oversight. Coordinates with teleradiology providers, staff radiologists, Director of Health Science and Chief of Radiology to optimize distribution of studies that need read. Oversees seamless integration of PACS with radiological modalities and information system, ensuring the data flow and interoperability. Stay updated on tech advancements and productivity related to PACS, imaging informatics, voice recognition, and other information system related to imaging. Building strong partnerships, streamline workflows, and engage with staff on imaging informatics improvements across VANEOHS and VISN 10. Proposing new policies and practices as well as modifying, adapting, and refining existing guidelines to address specific MC needs. Developing and prioritizing PACS related strategic goals for the facility and VISN through the imaging and imaging informatics councils. Coordinating numerous support actions including daily use of VISTA Imaging as well as managing requests for imaging results Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although it also involves occasional movement throughout and between facilities. The work involves regular use of computer.
