You qualify for this position at the IC-09level (starting salary $60,416) if you possessthe following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-07) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Assisting with administering and evaluating Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs,
Preparing written reports, instructions, or briefings; and
Assisting in the analysis and/or evaluation of programs to provide recommendations. ORmaster’s or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D.,ORCombination of education and experience
You qualify for this position at the IC-11 level (starting salary $73,098) if you possessthe following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-09) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Developing briefings, project papers, status/staff reports, and correspondence to managers,
Providing technical advice and assistance conveying policy and concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding hazard mitigation programs, and
Compiling data from various sources to develop recommendations for programimprovements. ORPh.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M.ORCombination of education and experience
You qualify for this position at the IC-12 level (starting salary $87,614) if you possessthe following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-11) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Conveying mitigation policies, regulations, procedures, and methods to Federal, State, local, tribal, territorial, nongovernmental organizations, and private sector,
Providing advice and technical guidance to internal and external customers concerning mitigation management programs and initiatives; and
Analyzing and evaluating issues involving hazard mitigation functions to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
