Basic Requirement for the 0810 Civil Engineering Series Basic Requirement for the 1350 Geology Series In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Minimum Qualifications GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes includes managing and/or coordinating engineering projects; and conducting investigations/studies for geotechnical, geological, geophysical, drilling services, laboratory testing, and/or materials/EDC relative to foundation design, evaluation of geologic, ground water and seepage conditions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job at the GS-13, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Civil Engineering Specialty Leadership Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement for GS-13: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
About the Position: Serves as the Chief, Geoenvironmental Section, responsible for planning and conducting geotechnical, geological, geophysical, drilling services, laboratory testing, and materials/EDC, investigations and studies relative to foundation design, evaluation of geologic, ground water and seepage conditions. This position will be located in St. Louis, MO and will allow for situational telework only. This position is NOT eligible for full time telework.
