To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Individual Occupational Requirements, GS-0671: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study — hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: Provide guidance and information related to medical education programs; Compile data and prepare administrative status reports; Work with technical representatives and subject matter experts in the development of contract related documents; Provide technical advice, guidance, and assistance to management in a wide variety of management services areas. OR Completed a master’s or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-09 grade level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: Provide coordination and perform a variety of management analysis assignments that involve the application of qualitative and quantitative methods to assure efficient, accurate development of medical education programs; Develop policies, guidelines, instructions, and procedures for administrative and management requirements; Provide advice and assistance to management and program officials on management policies and procedures; Independently evaluate the quality, effectiveness, and responsiveness of the management services and in identifying areas for potential improvement. Provide recommendations for addition, expansion, or modification of management services to fill gaps in current services or to respond to new legislative or program initiatives, changes in policy or funding availability, and other development that impact management services; Works with management in areas such as implementing reorganizations, improving employee performance and morale. OR Completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years (54 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work or LL.M., if related. OR Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-11 grade level. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
This position is located within the Quality Division, Staff Development, at Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC), in Phoenix, AZ. The Medical Education Program Coordinator performs a wide variety of analytical, management, administrative, and educational duties to facilitate the operation of the Medical Education Program.
