To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology. This specialization has additional educational requirements, as stated below: Clinical Psychology: For this position at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral program (Ph. D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:GS-14: 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Professional knowledge of psychological principles and theories, methodologies, and techniques in and experience with providing state of the art integrated behavioral health services in a primary care setting; Professional knowledge of and ability to perform in a broad repertoire of psychotherapeutic skills from a variety of theoretical perspectives, e.g. play therapy with children; Professional knowledge to include substantial adolescent psychology work to consult with medical staff and behavioral health professionals in evaluating and treating adolescent patients with psychological disorders; Incumbent will serve as a consultant for adolescent mental health issues. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Must possess an active unrestricted License in Clinical Psychology from any U.S. State. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is located in the Chinle Service Unit, Division of Clinical Services, and Primary Care Services Department. Chinle, AZ. The purpose of the position is to develop. implement and support primary care patient-centered medical home-based behavioral health services in order to facilitate more effective management of a range of chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, depression, obesity, and hypertension.
