Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-301-7. A qualified candidate’s online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is at least one year of experience (combined), equivalent in responsibility to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service, scheduling, producing, executing and coordinating social and protocol activities. Rather, you must show in your résumé how your past work experience demonstrates that you possess the KSAs identified below. Skill in event planning. Skill in using software applications to manage office operations. “Experience” refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The National Gallery of Art serves the United States in a national role by preserving, collecting, exhibiting, and fostering the understanding of works of art at the highest possible museum and scholarly standards. Reporting to the Head of Special Events, the primary purpose of the position is to assist with the preparation of guest lists, invitation mailings, event seating, and staffing for events sponsored by the Gallery, such as dinners, luncheons and receptions.
