To qualify at the GS-13 level you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Applicants must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Field Manager. Specialized experience is defined as planning, implementing, and/or administering natural resource programs in a multi-resource environment involving the management of public lands; demonstrated leadership and/or management experience in managing or directing one or more natural resource programs within a multiple-use framework or natural resources management setting; experience working with an established budget system; and managing public lands for multiple use, such as energy, minerals and renewable resources. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: Normally works in an office setting with occasional trips to the field. Occasionally required to walk moderately long distances over rough terrain during normal fieldwork. Work Environment: Office work is accomplished in an adequately lighted and heated facility. When in the field, subject to injuries when walking in rough terrain and exposure to uncomfortable hot and cold temperatures. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer.
