GS-09: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: -Experience with calibrating and operating instrumentation such as PH meters, conducting bridges, spectrophotometers, halogenated analyzers, mercury analyzers, infrared spectrophotometers, gas chromatographs, gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer, etc. -Experience with Military and Federal Standards and specifications, Naval Ship Technical Manuals, American Society of Testing Material Procedures, Environmental Protection Agency including SDWA, CWA, RCRA and TSCA regulations and other technical publications and the practical knowledge to apply these specifications as applicable to the chemical testing required in the shipyard. -Experience evaluating specific instrument uses in the analyses of environmental sample investigation. -Experience providing advice, guidance and training to junior chemists and technicians. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: -Experience assisting with calibrating and operating instrumentation such as PH meters, conducting bridges, spectrophotometers, halogenated analyzers, mercury analyzers, infrared spectrophotometers, gas chromatographs, gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer, etc. -Experience evaluating specific instrument uses in the analyses of environmental sample investigation. -Experience using Military and Federal Standards and specifications, Naval Ship Technical Manuals and American Society of Testing Material Procedures. You will serve as a CHEMIST in the Analytical and Environmental Chemistry Branch (Code134.1) in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Materials Test Laboratory (Code 134) of the Quality Assurance Office (Code 130) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
