Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with performing organizational support services, including special projects and research. Performing general office management duties to oversee the functions of the organization. Assisting with ordering and maintaining office supplies and equipment. Coordinating training requests for office personnel and assists with maintaining pertinent records. Authoritative source for information pertaining to items such as: Joint Travel Regs (JTR), OPORDS and Daily Tasking Orders, Personnel actions, In-Boarding and Out-boarding of employees, Collateral Duty Office Safety requirements, and Government Purchase Cards. Use automated systems needed to provide administrative services to the division office. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts) GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in planning, directing, and coordinating organizational support services. Responds to inquiries, requests, and complaints concerning the facility or support operations. Coordinates and schedules approved training. Responsible for purchasing office supplies and locally procured items. Administrative Team Leader and advisor on information pertaining to: Joint Travel Regs (JTR), OPORDS and Daily Tasking Orders, Personnel actions, In-Boarding and Out-boarding of employees, Collateral Duty Office Safety requirements, and Government Purchase Cards. Use automated systems needed to provide administrative services to the division office. Provide leadership to a group of subordinate administrative assistants. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Facilities Operations and Maintenance Information Management Management Tools Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent in order to qualify (52 weeks at GS-07 to qualify at the GS-09 level, and 52 weeks at GS-09 to qualify at the GS-11 level).
About the Position: Performing administrative services with respect to personnel recruitments, training, security, safety, and time keeping; acquisition, contracting, and procurements for supplies, services, and IT equipment; logistics management for CONUS and OCONUS travel. Can be filled at any grade advertised. This recruitment provides promotion opportunity to the target grade of the position without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management.
