Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes applying administrative laws, policies, and regulations for the implementation and development of programs concerning Casualty Response and Management, Drug Demand and/or Substance Abuse, Suicide Prevention, Retirement Services, Funeral Honors, Casualty Operations, Medical Line of Duty, Integration Prevention Advisory Group; developing immediate, mid-range and long-range plans, policies and objectives as they relate to assigned programs; providing support in human resource management to include areas of position management, personnel actions, performance and the equal employment opportunity program; conducting special studies and projects to define fundamental issues and operating problems; developing, justifying, reporting on, and executing the budget for major programs; and serving in a leadership role to guide, influence, motivate, and challenge others. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
