
SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1) Processes the granting or denying access to classified material in accordance with regulations including interviewing employees and/or applicants concerning allegations of a derogatory nature or requesting additional investigation of developing other information. 2) Ensures that determinations are made on the suitability and security eligibility of individuals for entry in sensitive and non-sensitive positions. 3) Advises management personnel on every phase of the information, personnel, industrial and physical security program for the command. 4) Manages, implements and directs the commands physical security and loss prevention program which includes developing and maintain comprehensive physical security instructions. 5) Assess and evaluates security measures in areas designated for storage of classified matter, materials of highly pilfer able or hazardous nature and those areas vulnerable to threat and sabotage. 6) Advises and directs in matters regarding the eligibility of personnel to access classified information and is assigned to sensitive duties. 7) Hear and resolve complaints from employees, refer grievances, and effect minor disciplinary measures, and carrying out EEO policies.
