Only experience and education obtained by 10/06/2023 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level. This experience has equipped me with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience includes: guided tours, designing interpretive displays, conducting environmental education programs. OR Two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or master’s or equivalent graduate degree. Major study: natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources. OR A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement. Minimum Qualification GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level. This experience has equipped me with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience includes: guided tours, designing interpretive displays, conducting environmental education programs. building collaborative partnerships, conducting community outreach, grant writing. OR Three years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree related to the occupation. Major study: natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources. OR A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is a Park Ranger (Visitor Services Manager), GS- 0025-9/11 working in Bethel, Alaska for the R7-Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge.
