In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying planning criteria to execute and/or oversee Shore Infrastructure Planning, to include regional, installation and area development plans; 2) Applying knowledge of planning criteria, as well as master planning, facility planning, economic analyses, explosive safety siting, Asset Evaluations, Basic Facility Requirements, and space management; 3) Executing Project Planning Documents, such as Military Construction (MILCON) and Special Project planning documentation (DD Form 1391), Basic Facility Requirements (BFRs), Asset Evaluations (AEs), Facility Planning Documents, (FPDs), and economic analyses; 4) Providing technical references, guidance, training, and mentorship to colleagues and Public Works Department (PWD) staff; and 5) Completing Asset Evaluations, Basic Facility Requirements, Facility Planning Documents, MILCON and Special Project submissions using computer application software (e.g. Excel, FRAME tool, iNFADS, SFPS, WAWF, CPARS, AutoCAD, ECONPAK, ie FACMAN, and EPG). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants for the 0020 series must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: A. You have successfully completed a community planning degree, or a degree in a related discipline such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance. OR B. You have a combination of education and experience where you have successfully completed a community planning degree, or a degree in a related discipline such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration and have one (1) year of work experience in community planning acquired under the supervision and guidance of a community planner. OR C. You have a combination of education and experience where your courses were equivalent to a major in community planning , urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration; or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the listed disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Applicants for the 0807 series must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: A. You have a bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university in a landscape architecture or landscape design OR successful completion of a 5-year program of study of at least 160 semester hours leading to a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture in an accredited college or university. OR B. You have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience — for each year short of graduation, you have had 1 year of experience under professional leadership and guidance of such character and diversity as to be a satisfactory substitute for the required education. This experience included original landscape design.
