To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 Level in federal service developing and administering a personnel security program and providing technical expertise and guidance on personnel security policies and related matters. Examples include: developing and maintaining procedures for a personnel case management system; issuing background investigation requirements; conducting reviews of adjudicative recommendations and providing feedback; evaluating the sensitivity level of positions; managing the security clearance and suitability/fitness process; and representing an organization in personnel security matters. Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) & other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, & skills & can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This Lead Personnel Security Specialist position is located in the Division of Administrative Services (DAS), Office of Information and Resource Management (OIRM). The incumbent will serve as the principal personnel security technical lead to the National Science Foundation (NSF).
