NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as as administering or evaluating programs related to pollution prevention programs; coaching, mentoring and/or leading others; and participating in work groups, panels or committees to discuss environmental program policy and procedures. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of environmental protection guidelines. Skill overseeing environmental protection program initiatives; Skill in analysis and interpretation of laws, regulations, and other guidance to support decision-making. Skill in assessing effectiveness and efficiency of a team. Skill in workforce and succession planning. Ability to mentor personnel. Skill in oral communication. Skill in drafting materials for senior and/or executive management review. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position is in Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution prevention, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, Sustainability, Prevention, and Right-To-Know Division, P2 Analytics and Evaluation Branch.
