To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-05: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Examples Include: the sterilization of medical tools and equipment, sterilization testing, packaging of medical tools, use of automated system to track, order, tools and supplies, record keeping and construction of basic reports. -OR-Four (4) year course study above a high school level leading to bachelor’s degree with courses related to the advertised position. -OR-Combination of specialized experience and post high school education related to the advertised position with at least two (2) full academic years above the second full-year semester earning at least 60 semester credit hours leading to a B.A. degree. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Specialized Experience: Utilizing technical names, general uses and physical characteristics of supplies and equipment, and operating conditions of medical supply items; decontamination, cleaning, preparation, sterilization, and storage procedures; aseptic techniques and operating a washer-sterilizer, ultrasonic instrument cleaners, and gas and steam sterilizers. Central Sterile Reprocessing Technician Certification is preferred but not required. NOTE: Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-05 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is located at the Inscription House Health Center, Division of Clinical Services, Dental Program, Central Sterile Room (CSR), Shonto, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of task necessary for the processing of sterile supplies such as decontaminating, packaging and sterilizing of all instruments for distribution of the IHHC Dental Service, acute patient care various outpatient clinics and outlying health clinics at Inscription House (IHHC).
