IT SPEC (SYSADMIN) (TITLE 32)

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service “under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709” and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE: May be paid to the candidate who is “newly appointed” into this federal government position. The bonus will NTE $7,500. Payment will be a lump sum payment at the beginning of employment. Candidate must agree in writing to remain in this position for a minimum of 12 months, and if they vacate that position for another technician, AGR or active-duty service position within the initial 12-month period, the Incentive may be recouped. Current onboard technicians, if selected, are not eligible for this bonus. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 86 and the President is Mr. Robert Morgan at rmorgan@actnat.com. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted; E4 thru E7. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education, or training receiving, maintaining, and issuing data storage media for computer operations. Experience in scheduling the use of computer time for program processing. Experience collecting and sequentially staging input media with associated program instructions for processing. Experience in at least one programming language. Translating detailed logical steps developed by others into language codes that computers accept where this required understanding of procedures and limitations appropriate to use of a programming language. Experience interviewing subject-matter personnel to get facts regarding work processes and synthesizing the resulting data into charts showing information flow. Experience in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency.
