Minimum Qualification Requirements You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-13, if you possess the specialized experience. Specialized Experience for the GS-13: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent public or private sector experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the three (3) following duties or work assignments below: 1. Experience in planning, conducting and leading inspections and projects. 2. Experience in researching, interpreting and applying professional standards and their applications in a Federal Office of Inspector General. This includes Government Auditing Standards, Quality Standards for Inspections and Evaluations, Quality Standards for Federal Offices of Inspector General, etc. 3. Experience working as part of a team to facilitate achievement of project, component, and organizational objectives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). Expert knowledge of and ability to apply professional standards, regulations, requirements, practices and AS policy and procedures in performance of assigned activities and documentation of results. 2. Advanced ability to contribute to the project team’s overall success in meeting goals, to include timeliness. 3. Expert knowledge of and demonstrated ability to analyze various types of evidence that includes, but is not limited to physical observations, interviews, documents and records, grant agreements and contracts, and electronic data files. 4. Advanced ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with officials at various organizational levels, within and external to the OIG and Department. 5. Advanced ability to analyze information from multiple sources and to accurately reflect that analysis in a written work product that generally requires limited revision.
This position is in Audit Services (AS), which is responsible for audit, inspection, evaluation, and other related activities that are intended to improve the Department’s programs and operations. AS conducts, coordinates, and oversees these activities and makes recommendations to promote the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the Department’s programs and operations.
