Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to lead and provide work direction to employees. Must have experience in cash handling procedures and sales operations such as receipt, disbursement, deposit and use of cash accountability control methods. Must have experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures relating to specialty coffee preparation or similar activity. Barista must have knowledge of variety of drink recipes and knowledge of coffee beans and teas typically served at a specialty coffee operation. Must be able to know how to safely use the equipment such an espresso machine. Must be able to memorize specialty coffee drink recipes. Must possess skills in dealing with the public and handling customer issues. Requires skillful verbal and written communication and documentation capability. Ability to read, write, and speak English is required. Must have the ability to hear and follow oral and or written instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler’s training. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical is required. This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
