For the GS-13, candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes meeting the following: Implementing the internal controls and the operating and security practices for the organization being audited; AND Performing vulnerability assessments of networks and systems; AND Implementing the existing security policy and procedures; AND Reviewing IT systems and/or IT security programs to identify weaknesses and make recommendations for corrective actions with senior management. For the GS-12, candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes meeting the following: Making recommendations on internal controls and the operating and security practices for the organization being audited; AND Making recommendations on performing vulnerability assessments of networks and systems; AND Making recommendations for evaluating or implementing the existing security policy and procedures; AND Reviewing IT systems and/or IT security programs to identify weaknesses and make recommendations for corrective actions. For the GS-11, candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes meeting the following: Providing guidance on evaluating or implementing the internal controls and the operating and security practices for the organization being audited; AND Providing guidance with performing vulnerability assessments of networks and systems; AND Providing guidance on evaluating or implementing the existing security policy and procedures. AND Reviewing IT systems and/or IT security programs to identify weaknesses and make recommendations for corrective actions. OR you can qualify based on education which consists of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. For the GS-09, candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes meeting the following: Assisting in evaluating or implementing the internal controls and the operating and security practices for the organization being audited; AND Assisting in performing vulnerability assessments of networks and systems; AND Assisting in evaluating or implementing the existing security policy and procedures. OR you can qualify based on education which consists of a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree in a related field. Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1. This position is located at Treasury Office of the Inspector General, Office of Audit. As an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), you will provide support to the IT Audit Directorate by conducting audits and evaluations on the implementation and practices of Treasurys information systems security programs to ensure security controls are appropriately applied to IT systems for the protection of privacy and to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
