In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as providing leadership, oversight, or expertise in the development and implementation of programmatic regulation and policy; planning or developing budgets; and working collaboratively with stakeholders, federal and state agencies, and/or internal team members to accomplish organizational goals. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of statutory programs related to land, chemicals, and redevelopment. Ability to manage environmental projects and balance competing issues and workloads. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of subordinate organizational units. Ability to provide regulatory advice and direction. Skill in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, agencies, and programs. Ability to manage organizational priorities. Skill in oral communication. Skill in written communication. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
