At the GS-13 level this position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position requires the incumbent to be a registered Professional Architect in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the U.S. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your registration with your application to be considered for these positions). Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) As Senior Design Architect and technical specialist, directly responsible for executing inhouse architectural design work products and services within specified milestones and quality standards. 2) Performs all aspects of architectural design for a wide variety of installation shore facility types, including architectural programming, space planning, concept design development, sustainable design, design analyses, compliance with codes and standards, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and other required services. 3) Leads multi-disciplinary in-house design teams. Provides day-to-day expert technical guidance and support in developing initial project documents (DD 1391, BFR, program, etc.), plans, specifications, studies, reports, and other design work products. 4) Coordinates the architectural design with the engineering disciplines for Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) projects to ensure overall compatibility and efficiency of the site and building design.
