Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician without more than normal supervision. Installing variety of commercial and industrial electrical systems and equipment. Complete troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades on a variety of commercial and industrial electrical equipment, and safely operate a variety of hand tools to perform electrician duties. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires the incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work often from ladders, scaffolding and aerial platforms, and to work in uncomfortable positions. The incumbent frequently lifts, carries, and sets up parts, tools, and equipment that weigh up to 20 pounds and less often up to 40 pounds. Occasionally with assistance, the incumbent must lift or move moderately heavy objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed both on the interior and exterior of buildings, plants, motor pools, hangars and other commercial and industrial facilities. Work must sometimes be performed during exposure to inclement weather; in work areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy; on scaffolding or lifts at heights of 30 feet or more; and in confined spaces such as manholes, attics and crawl spaces. The Incumbent is occasionally exposed to the possibility of injury from falling, electrical shock, burns, and electric motor driven equipment and is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises.

About the Position:This position is located with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Clarksville, Tennessee about 45 miles northwest of Nashville.
