Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks an Aircraft Electrician including: 1) Perform theoretical, precise, and/or artistic work applies to skilled and semi-skilled occupations; 2) Knowledge of trade theory and up-to-date trade practices; 3) Fabricate tools/fixtures/gages with critical dimensions; 4) Apply arithmetic/trade math for computations: 5) Construct new, one-of-a-kind items; 6) Invent new methods, special/decorative effects and plan/layout/set up operations; 7) Set up/shift storage locations, select containers/protective devices/cushioning materials and pack items considering size/type/weight/fragility/how they are transported; 8) Know locations of stock and how they are marked/tagged/identified; 9) Rotate items according to shelf life/age/date: 10) Knowledge of handling/processing/storing techniques, machines/equipment used; 11) Match names/numbers/other ID to orders or receipts, fill out forms/record information. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. B. I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks of an Aircraft Electrician including: 1) The ability to perform theoretical, precise, and/or artistic work applies to skilled and semi-skilled occupations; 2) Knowledge of trade theory and up-to-date trade practices; 3) Ability to fabricate tools/fixtures/gages with critical dimensions; 4) Use of arithmetic/trade math for computations: 5) Ability to construct new, one-of-a-kind items; 6) Invent new methods, special/decorative effects and plan/layout/set up operations; 7) Set up/shift storage locations, select containers/protective devices/cushioning materials and pack items considering size/type/weight/fragility/how they are transported; 8) Know locations of stock and how they are marked/tagged/identified; 9) Rotate items according to shelf life/age/date: 10) Knowledge of handling/processing/storing techniques, machines/equipment used: 11) Match names/numbers/other ID to orders or receipts, fill out forms/record information. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. B. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
