GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION: Experience / education which is directly related to the position to be filled and which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. To qualify for this GS-11 position, you must meet the Specialized Experience, Education, or a combination of both as described below: Specialized Experience – Must have at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-09. Experience, education or training program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the business or industry position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Responsible for the total squadron maintenance program, manages the overall direction of the maintenance effort, and enforces safe maintenance practices. Controls and coordinates maintenance activity on the flightline. Ensures aircraft status is accurately reported in accordance with Air Force instructions, reports, and applicable supplements. OR Education – Possess a Ph.D, an equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. NOTE: In order to be considered for this position using education as a basis of qualification, you must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR Combination – A combination of Specialized Experience and Education as described above. Only graduate education in excess of that required for a Master’s degree or equivalent may be used when combining education and experience to meet the total qualification requirements. NOTE: In order to qualify for this position using a combination of experience and education, you must submit a copy of your transcripts. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates and hours worked per week for each occurrence of both civilian and military employment (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only will result in disqualification. The duties listed must fully substantiate -in your own words- that you meet the minimum requirements and specialized experience listed above, in detail; otherwise, you will not be considered qualified for this position. Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Your experience will be evaluated on the basis of duties performed. Your record of experience and/or training must show possession of the following knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position: – Knowledge of the maintenance, modification, and repair of various types of complex aviation components and equipment on a combat or strategic fixed wing aircraft. — Knowledge of the activity, staff, support operations, manpower, equipment, supplies, and materials, etc., to develop short- and long-range plans and schedules of maintenance workloads. — Extensive knowledge, understanding, and use of aircraft equipment and components terminology, data, and standards, and how to relate them to needs of missions. — Knowledge and experience to observe and analyze production operations to determine if schedules are being followed, improved, and to determine the causes of production delays. — Knowledge of quality assurance sufficient to comply with Air Force directives and guidelines. — Knowledge of Emergency War Order (EWO) and contingency plans to successfully accomplish aircraft generation. — Must possess an understanding of the pertinent directives to the function and established priorities based on scheduled inspections, equipment outages, mission requirements, and training schedules. — Knowledge and in-depth understanding of the capabilities of equipment possessed and of the specialty shops, and all possible work sequences available in the production facility to ensure that all maintenance and production goals are attained expeditiously and economically with no degradation to the training or mission objectives.
