Plan to attend the Rock Island Arsenal Child and Youth Services Job Fair on Tuesday, 15 October from 10am until 2pm. Event will be held at Riverfront Hall on the WIU campus at 3300 River Drive in Moline, IL. Applicants who attend the Job Fair will be given hiring preference and are encouraged to apply on this announcement prior to attending. Please bring a government issued photo ID, social security card, current resume and proof of education. Acceptable documents for proof of education are a HS Diploma, a HS Transcript (showing the graduation date), a GED certificate, a college transcript listing courses that were taken, or proof of a college degree. Positions are available in the Child Development Center as well as the School Age Center. (QUAL 1) Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate to the position consistent with: Education must have been directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying). -For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. -For positions in Youth Facilities: The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. For positions in School-Age facilities, the education must have been in any of the fields above. OR (QUAL 2) A combination of education and experience – courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above. In addition to meeting one of the requirements above (QUAL 1 or QUAL 2), candidate must also possess all of the following: 1. Experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs. 2. Experience managing a classroom setting within child and youth programs. 3. Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum. 4. Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar.
