In order to qualify for this position, you must possess both the Basic Education Requirement and Minimum Qualification: Basic Education Requirement Possess a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, OR Possess a combination of education and experience; courses equivalent to a major, as shown above, PLUS appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualification GS-07 Possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience includes: (1) Assisting with animal husbandry and propagation and troubleshooting issues; (2) Assisting with entering and analyzing scientific data; (3) Assisting with captive animal management; and (4) Cleaning and maintaining captive animal enclosures. S.A.A. is based on (1) Class Standing, (2) Grade-Point Average, or (3) Honor Society Membership.
