In order to qualify for the Pathways Internship Program, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria and the qualification requirements corresponding to the grade level at which they wish to be considered by the closing date of the announcement: PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled as a degree seeking student in an accredited vocational or technical institution, 2- or 4- year college/university or graduate/professional school; taking a minimum half-time load of courses; possessing and maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a scale of 4.0; and pursuing any of the following academic degrees: Vocational/Technical Certificate (two-year program) Associate’s Degree Baccalaureate Degree Graduate Degree (Master’s program) Professional Degree (Doctoral program) NOTE: Official transcripts are required upon selection and prior to appointment. Transcripts and proof of enrollment may be obtained from the National Student Clearinghouse. Failure to submit the documentation will result in disqualification from further consideration. In addition to the eligibility requirements for the Pathways Internship Program, you must also meet the followings qualification requirements based on the educational achievements by the closing date of this announcement in order to qualify for the Student Trainee (Science), 0499/0699/0899/1399, at GS – 4/5/7. GS-04: Completion of 2 full academic years (60 semester/90 quarter units) of post-high school study or an associate’s degree. GS-05: Completion of 4 academic years (120 semester/180 quarter units) of post high school leading to a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree. GS-07: A. Meet the Superior Academic Achievement provision (S.A.A.) criteria. S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing — Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.) — Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (“B” or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (“B+” or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society — Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. These honor societies are listed by the Association of College Honor Societies; -OR- B. Completion of one full academic year of graduate level education (18 semester/27 quarter units) at an accredited college or university. Note: One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school you attended has determined to represent one year of study. If this information cannot be obtained from your school, we will consider 18 semester/27 quarter hours to be equal to one year of full-time study.
