International Economist (Senior International Economist)

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Experience conducting economic or financial analysis with a focus on macroeconomic trends and developments, banking or financial markets, international trade or investment, sanctions, development finance, climate finance or multilateral development; AND Experience communicating information, both orally and written, regarding relevant economic issues or legislation to senior leadership or high-ranking officials; AND Experience formulating strategic analysis that will advance work in assessing the implications of macroeconomic trends, banking or financial markets, international trade or investment, sanctions, development finance, or multilateral development. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorist and Financial Intelligence – Intelligence Analysis. As an International Economist, you will serve as a subject matter expert on economic and financial topics for the Department, supporting senior Treasury officials by producing intelligence assessments, involving economic and finance-related threats to U.S. national security with the highest standards of tradecraft and complexity.
