To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education(external link) (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Medical Requirements Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-11 In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements listed above, Experience or training which demonstrates your ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-11 level. Have 3-years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Ph.D., Phar.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. GS-12 – In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements listed above, Experience which demonstrates your ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-12 level. One year of professional pharmacy experience equivalent to at least GS-11 grade level. This experience is related to the work of the position in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples include: Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions; maintain accurate inventory of medications; offer information to assist patients in understanding how to properly take their prescribed medications; work with the pharmaceutical staff to maintain a clean, customer-friendly workplace; assist patients in solving problems, such as identifying old medication or finding an over-the-counter solution to minor health issues. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is located in the Pharmacy Department of the Red Lake Service Unit, Red Lake, MN. The employee serves as a clinical pharmacist providing quality pharmaceutical services to eligible patients in accordance with Federal and State law, Indian Health Service regulations, and accepted ethical standards. Work is performed on an assigned basis; Incumbent may be required to work on a rotational basis for shift, weekend and holiday duty as needed and assigned.
