All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/18/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. Individual Occupational Requirements, Basic Requirements for General Natural Resources Management and Biological Sciences Series, 0401: Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. -OR- Combination of education and experience courses equivalent to a major, as shown above for 401 series, plus appropriate experience, or additional education. Individual Occupational Requirements, Basic Requirements for Ecology Series, 0408: Degree: biology, or a related field of science underlying ecological research that included at least 30 semester hours in basic and applied biological sciences. These hours must have included at least 9 semester hours in ecology, and 12 semester hours in physical and mathematical sciences. Individual Occupational Requirements, Basic Requirements for Physical Science Series, 1301: Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. -OR- Combination of education and experience — education equivalent to one of the majors shown above for 1301 series, that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience, or additional education. – AND – To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Those without such specialized experience will be disqualified. Specialized experience includes (1) Use of concepts, terminology, and best practices as they relate to managing and/or researching natural resource inventories in national park units or other protected conservation areas. (2) Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out complex scientific investigations in a cost effective, timely and professional manner. (3) Manage and coordinate project work conducted by interdisciplinary teams under the auspices of formal contracts and agreements; includes oversight and management of budgets, tasks/timelines, and project products and deliverables. (4) Communication skills as evidenced in plans, reports, guidance/instructional documents, or other substantive written materials, or professional presentations, briefings, outreach programs, or other substantive oral communications that reflect a well-organized, clear, and concise presentation style. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Serve as inventory & Monitoring (I&M) Network Program Manager, responsible for supervising and directing the development, implementation, and management of the Vital Signs Monitoring (VSM) program and network-wide inventories. The l&M program may include, but is not limited to, vegetation, wildlife, sensitive species, exotic and pest species, fisheries, climate, air and water quality, soils, geology, hydrology, paleontology, forest ecology, aquatic ecology, and ecosystem dynamics.
