Applicants must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) of an accredited law school; AND Bar Membership: Applicants must be a current member of a bar with a valid license to practice law in a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Also, to qualify for this Executive-level position, you must have substantial specialized experience, which is defined as: Experience providing legal advice concerning federal fair lending and anti-discrimination laws; AND Experience providing legal advice and guidance concerning advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in credit decisions, access to credit, and/or emerging credit products; AND Experience employing continuous process improvement to ensure people, processes, and technology are aligned and incorporated into an organization’s mission, AND Experience providing guidance to senior leadership concerning legal obligations related to consumer financial protection laws and issues, administrative law, or agency legal compliance. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. This position is in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Office of Fair Lending and Equal Opportunity (Fair Lending). The incumbent leads the Office of Fair Lending and Equal Opportunity, which provides expertise and coordination to set the Bureaus strategy on fair lending issues-including efforts to rein in emerging activities by entities that prevent fair, equitable, and non-discriminatory access to credit.
