Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Processing routine civilian personnel actions such as appointments, corrections, cancelations. 2) Applying civilian human resources regulations, and policies to provide guidance on issue such as Civilian Personnel Records Center coding, pay setting, veterans preference laws, appointing authority, entitlements, debts, etc.; or 3) Assisting with gathering data from civilian personnel records to identify processing/data entry errors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing the processing of a wide range of civilian personnel actions; 2) Providing advisory service on a wide variety of civilian personnel actions, corrections, and cancelations that affect employee data, benefits, overseas entitlements and pay; 3) Interpreting civilian human resources regulations, and policies to provide technical guidance on issue such as Civilian Personnel Records Center coding, pay setting, veterans preference laws, appointing authority, overseas entitlements, benefit programs, etc.; or 4) Assisting with analysis of civilian personnel records, data error, processing/data entry errors, and trends to identify needed corrective actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). GS-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing and overseeing the processing of a comprehensive range of personnel actions; 2) Providing advisory service on a wide variety of personnel actions, corrections, and cancelations that affect employee data, benefits, overseas entitlements, pay, etc.; 3) Analyzing civilian human resources regulations, and policies to provide technical guidance on issue such as Civ Civilian Personnel Records Center coding, pay setting, veterans preference laws, appointing authority, overseas entitlements, benefit programs, debt collection, back pay etc.; or 4) Conducting analysis of civilian personnel records, data error, processing/data entry errors, and trends to identify needed corrective actions utilizing systems such as the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) or Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Time in Grade Requirement: GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). GS-09: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
About the Position: This position is located in Civilian Human Resources Agency (CHRA), Consolidated Services Division, Civilian Personnel Records Center (CivPRC). NOTE: Positions may be filled at the GS-07, GS-09, or GS-11 grade level. If filled at the GS-07 or GS-09 grade level, full performance is at the GS-11. This is a REMOTE position.
