Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12. Specialized experience must be reflected in your resume and include the following: -Drafting and/or signing final decisions or briefs to claimants who have applied for compensation benefits. -Review case documents and or/evidence to evaluate workers compensation claims. -Analyze and interpret legal issue(s) to determine entitlement to workers’ compensation benefits under federal laws.
This position is located in the DFELHWC, this position is to serve as a Special Hearing Representative and preliminary authority in managing and adjudicating complex and sensitive claims, authorizing payment for the full range of highly complex disability and death cases and issuing a variety of decision for cases dealing with classified information. This position is outside the bargaining unit. Additional selections may be made from this announcement. This position is located in Washington DC
