Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements AND Minimum Qualification Basic Requirement: A. Successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from an accredited college or university. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts to support your claim, otherwise you will found ineligible) OR B.Successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science from an accredited college or university. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.(Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts to support your claim, otherwise you will found ineligible). AND Minimum Qualifications: You qualify for the GS-09 level (starting salary $68,405.00) if you possess one of the following: Specialized Experience: Applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Assisting with the development and maintenance of Information Technology and Database systems ((MySQL, Oracle) Writing software (PL/SQL statements) and hardware specifications to accomplish technical support tasks; and Monitoring computer science system functions to identify problem areas by executing SQL queries. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. OR Education: Successfully completed two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree; or possess a master’s degree, LL.B, or J.D., if related, from an accredited college or university in computer science or another closely related field which provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) to support your claim. OR Combination: Have less than one year of experience as described above and less than 2 years of graduate-level education as described above, that when combined, equals at least 100% of the total requirement. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of one year (generally 18 semester hours) may be used in this calculation. You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial), and your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet the experience to support your claim. You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary ) if you possess one of the following: Specialized Experience: Applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Providing guidance to users on software such as operating systems, interface commands (Left, Right, Full Outer Join/Inner Join and Delete/Truncate statements), communications software, and/or application systems; Writing software (PL/SQL statements) and hardware specifications to accomplish technical support tasks; and Researching computer science system problem areas by executing SQL queries to provide senior staff solutions. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. OR Education: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related, from an accredited college or university in computer science or another closely related field which provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) to support your claim). OR Combination: Have a combination of specialized experience (less than one year) and graduate education (beyond 2 years of graduate education), that when combined equals 100% of the qualification requirement. Note: Only graduate education in excess of two years (generally 36 semester hours) may be used in this calculation. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) and your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet the experience to support your claim). Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet “time-in-grade” requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), “Notice of Personnel Action” that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
