TRAINING SPECIALIST (TITLE 32)

Areas of Consideration: Area 1 – Current permanent and indefinite T32 technicians of the Oregon ARNG. Area 2 – Current permanent and indefinite T5 employees of the Oregon ARNG. Area 3 – Current service members in the Oregon ARNG. GENERAL and SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Involves nonprofessional work of a technical, specialized, or support nature in the field of education and training when the work requires knowledge of program objectives, policies, procedures, or pertinent regulatory requirements affecting the education or training activity. Conducts education and training tasks for maintenance, operations, and support training; education services; curriculum development; and instructor activities. Develops, delivers, and evaluates education and training programs and classroom activities. In addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements, experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and the methods and techniques of instruction. To Qualify for This Position, You Must Have: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in duties that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. OR B. A Masters degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Major study – education of a subject area related to the position to be filled. Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR C. A combination of Experience as described in “A” above and Education as described in “B” above. Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: -Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). -Supervising or administering a training program. -Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. -Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
