AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32)

Specialized Experience Required: To qualify at the WS-10 grade level, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting experience or training in the following: Experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting parts, subassemblies and components, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience demonstrating the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments of lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Quality of Experience: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates’ experience should be evaluated based on duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant’s record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. Military Requirements This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a military assignment in the Texas Army National Guard. This position is part of the Texas State Aviation Office (SAO), Dallas Army Aviation Support Facility located in Grand Prairie, Texas. The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work. Work involves two or more dissimilar or unrelated occupations. Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.
