Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the Equipment Services Series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least three (3) years of progressively responsible general experience, one year of experience which is equivalent to at least the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GA-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service, and at a level close to the work of this position that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. General experience is described as experience that provided a knowledge of the characteristics, uses, and properties of equipment. This experience may have been gained in trades or crafts, engineering technician, production control, inspection, or other work related to the specialization of the position to be filled. Technical school may be credited as general experience in accordance with the following criteria: (a) Full-time resident study in a technical institute above the high school or trade school level on a month-for-month basis, (b) Completion of a full 4-year curriculum in a technical or vocational high school for up to 6 months of general experience, (c) Completion of a resident trade school course of at least 1 year in the manufacture, repair, or maintenance of equipment for up to 1 year of general experience. OR EDUCATION: successfully completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree in any field. This education has been obtained in an accredited college or university. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing. Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance. Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution. Skill in interpreting and applying complex organizational regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The primary purpose of this position, Equipment Specialist, NH-1670-02 is to provide support to the assigned work center. By perform a variety of production planning, scheduling, and supply tasks in direct support of depot maintenance programs.
