Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Managing more than one enterprise data center site or facility by maintaining and operating services, solutions and projects, capacity planning, asset management and upgrades and modifications for the life cycle management of applications, systems, services, equipment, mechanical/electrical infrastructure and technologies in the on–premise data centers; Implementing, operating, and maintaining hybrid environments consisting of on-premise and cloud computing and data storage solutions, including data center modernization and/or obsolescence efforts based on architecture objectives for improvement, optimization, consolidation and/or closures of data center facilities to meet current and future requirements; Coordinating with multi-disciplined teams for networking, security, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems in support of data center operations and infrastructure management; and Partnering with customers and stakeholders in defining their computing requirements in order to deliver complex, cross-functional data center services. AND You MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. You will serve as Data Center (DC) Operator working as a member of the enterprise team supporting the DC Service Managers in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Cloud and Computer Services (CCS) to maintain the reliability and efficiency of DC Operations, ensuring the Enterprise DC infrastructure effectively supports NASA customers and stakeholder needs. CCS provides management and support of on-premise assets, resources and underlying physical and virtual infrastructure.
